DC REPUBLICANS HONOR BLACK CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR COMMUNITY

WASHINGTON, DC (February 15, 2021) – This month, our country celebrates contributions of Black Americans to academia and science, politics and business, culture and the arts, literature, sports, and so many other parts of our society.  Washington, DC, with one of the highest African American populations of any city in our country, is a more vibrant place because of contributions from our Black community.  On the occasion of Black History Month, Patrick Mara, Chairman of the Republican Party of the District of Columbia said:

“This Black History Month, we are grateful for the contributions of our African American community and pledge to continue to work for greater opportunities for all residents of the District of Columbia. As we celebrate the accomplishments of the Black community, the DC Republican Party is proud to support safety and security allowed by a responsible police force, in-person educational opportunities for all, and a business-friendly environment in the District of Columbia that will support all DC residents, and disproportionately members of the African American community, who make up more than 45 percent of our population.”
