D.C. REPUBLICANS DEMAND A FULL END TO MASK MANDATE IN DC PUBLIC SCHOOLS
WASHINGTON, D.C. – (March 7, 2022)
America is emerging from their masks. We saw it at the State of the Union last week. States from California to New York are lifting school mask mandates. Unfortunately, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is bucking the trend back to normalcy, forcing DC students to continue to wear masks inside the classroom.
Patrick Mara, Chairman of the DC Republican Party issued this statement today: “The DC Republican Party calls on Mayor Bowser to lift the classroom mask mandate. As the father of two DC Public School children, I have a keen interest in keeping kids safe in schools. In fact, we all share the value of ensuring our children’s safety in school, but the continuing classroom mask mandate is not about safety or what is best in a learning environment. We implore you, Mayor Bowser, to ignore the far leftwing progressives on the DC Council and follow nationwide best-practices. Lift the classroom mask mandate now. “
