WASHINGTON, DC (May 29, 2021) – Americans are celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, noting the important contributions of Asian and Pacific Islanders to America’s history and culture. While just five percent of DC residents are Asian, their contributions in business, science, medicine, academia and politics in DC are important to the vitality of our Capital City. The DC Republican Party is grateful for these contributions and honors Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Chairman of the Republican Party of the District of Columbia Patrick Mara said:
