WASHINGTON – The DC Republican Committee announced its final Public Hearing on the 2020 DC Republican Platform. The third hearing, with the previous two held in Wards 6 and 7, is taking place at the Georgetown Public Library from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Wednesday, September 18. Previous hearings included testimony on multi-model transportation, healthcare, statehood, criminal justice reform and education, among several other important topics.
DC GOP Chairman José Cunningham praised the efforts of the Platform Committee along with all those offering testimony and input into the 2020 Platform. Cunningham noted, “This has been a very thorough process. The DC GOP has or will hold platform hearings in wards 2, 6 and 7. We received countless suggestions from District Republicans and non-Republicans alike. We are grateful for all this input.”
Platform Committee Chair, Dr. Charles Vincent, added, “All our welcome to attend our public hearings. We would like to get us much input as possible as we formulate our 2020 Platform. This is the Platform we will use as part of our 2020 national Republican platform advocacy efforts. We hope to see you at our hearing in Georgetown on Wednesday, September 18.”
The DC Republican Committee is made up of registered Republicans living throughout the District of Columbia in all eight wards who are nominated and elected to serve as members.
